(You) and more than 350 community leaders from across Canada will converge in Calgary, Alberta September 13 – 15 2017 to connect, learn, celebrate, and share a passion for building strong, inclusive community economies.
This annual national conference by CCEDNet is co-hosted and delivered this year by Thrive, Calgary Economic Development, REAP, The Institute for Community Prosperity, The Calgary Regional Partnership and Momentum.
16 workshops led by 22 changemakers will kick start conversations around topics such as place-based CED, local investing and microlending through the impacts of racial equity and equality, social franchising, community mobilized renewable energy and the power of partnerships. Keynote speakers include Chief Dr. Robert Joseph, Reconciliation Canada Ambassador and author and leading social enterprise developer Shaun Loney.
In complement to #EconoUs2017’s comprehensive workshop program is the opportunity to get out and about in the community. There will be coordinated excursions to Calgary’s surrounding smaller economies including Alberta’s first Fair Trade Town, and visits to area coops and social enterprises. You’ll also enjoy local food and beverage (yes, there will be a brewery tour!), complimentary yoga in the park and Beakerhead’s incredible installations for Canada’s 150.
Excited? We are! Please join us in Calgary this fall for #EconoUs2017 as we collaborate and innovate, envision and explore, and most of all create an inclusive economy for all.
