“Which business structure is right for me?” is one of the most common questions I get in my work.
Most of the time, people think they have 2 options – a business or a charity. There’s actually many more and each option comes with it, advantages and disadvantages. There are also a ton of different factors and circumstances to take into consideration. It’s a crazy confusing space to be in, so our friends over at Dentons helped create a resource to point you in the right direction.
It’s a great starting point if you’re not sure of which structure you want to move forward with. Of course, this resource comes with a standard heads up that “this document and the information it contains is not intended to constitute legal advice. It is strongly recommended that you consult with legal, accounting and other professional advisors when considering which business structure is best suited to your needs.”
